Review of Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale (2010) by Minna S — 03 Dec 2010
A tongue-in-cheek tale of the real Santa Claus, spiced with thriller and spoonfuls of comedy. The depiction of the origins of Santa is charmingly edgy. The characters are all one-sided and hollow, though, and the gags are either one-liners or based on curse words.
Not very sophisticated, that is. The dialogue and acting are partly quite clumsy but that surely can be intentional. And the special effects are by 2010 standards simple and cheap. To sum it up: an interesting idea with an execution within the limits of the tight budget.
Nothing too extraordinary. Yet.
