Review of Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale (2010) by Chris C — 28 Dec 2012
A really unique take on the killer Santa genre. Rather than having a psycho dress up as Santa, the threat is the actual Santa Claus ... or rather the dark, threatening Santa of pagan origin. An expedition to dig up the body of this Santa Claus deep in the wilds of Finland runs into issues and loses control of the situation.
A local boy figures out what's happening and enlists the help of friends and family to reign Santa in. A creative, but not particularly scary horror film, it paints a vivid picture of it's alternate Christmas mythology.
I suspect that the climax will disappoint many viewers.
