Review of Rango (2011) by Todd B — 29 Jul 2012

'Rango' is an animated comedy full of great jokes and awkward humor but lacking in a relatively coherent story. My biggest problem with the film's narrative is that the main villain's evil plan and motives are never fully explained --- we are merely assured that he is indeed a bad guy up to no good.

However, what pulls this movie together is Johnny Depp's performance as the titular character, who is totally sympathetic, likeable, and undergoes a satisfactory arc.
