Introduction.

The film begins with Rango performing a play in his tank, contained in his owners car. His owner runs over an armadillo and Rango and his tank fall out of the car. He then ventures out to find the city the armadillo tells him to go to. He then ventures to help the small western city to gather up water resources. This leads Rango on quite an adventure trying to find thieves, culprits, murderers, and water.

Plot Summary.

Rango isn't a very honest lizard, he will do anything to have people accept him, even if it takes several lies to get there. The small city he's relocated to needs his help. They've been running low on water recently and he wants to help them gain some more water. He feels that the mayor may be hiding something from him. Soon, all the water's gone Rango suspects he knows who committed such a crime. But he finds himself second guessing himself. He's not sure what's going on, all he knows is that he can't let the city down, he needs the water back. Secrets are spilled and things become more worse than it already was. The ending is quite a seat grabber.

Awards Won.

Best Animated Film was the Academy Award given to the film Rango. I believe this film totally deserved this award. For one the movie had a great story. It was interesting and funny, it wasn't pointless, it was definitely worth watching. In my opinion this is definitely an animated film that is worth an award and a place in my memory. It's one of these films that leave you stunned in the end.

Themes.

I believe the overall message of this film was to "always have hope, even through the darkest of times." I believe it teaches the viewers that the negatives isn't the whole story, there is always a positive side to everything. I believe it also tells that relationships don't always start at first sight, sometimes it takes a while to finally realize what's been in front of you this whole time. I believe that it was not only meant to entertain the viewers. Throughout the movie the characters talk about hope and how none of that is left.

Technical Elements.

I feel that although the movie was animated, the angles shot were changed up frequently and it kept my eyes locked onto the screen. I also believe the clear animation done was almost realistic, the snake scales, the bird feathers, all of it seemed so life like, it was surreal. I believe when music was involved in some shots, it would set the mood and it wouldn't throw you off from what was occurring on screen. I also thought most of the sound affects were very well done, especially the gun shots.

Conclusion.

Overall my opinion is that Rango is definitely great animated film. It's story is also a problem we have in the real world. It makes you laugh and can also make you wonder. The animations done in this film is absolutely exquisite in my opinion. If you choose to watch this film, you'll be happy you did, it doesn't get boring, there's more excitement around every corner. This movie definitely has its hidden lessons behind the story. If you think about it, these lessons are quite inspirational, for anyone. All in all, I definitely recommend others to watch this film.
