Review of Range 15 (2016) by Will O — 15 Jun 2016
Amazingly hilarious film! Produced by military veterans, largely crowdsourced from the veterans community, and the majority of the cast are veterans (except for William Shatner, who gets a pass). This movie is destined to become a cult classic in military circles at a minimum.
It is heavily loaded with "veteran dark humor" that non-veteran audiences may have a hard time warming up to, but it is amazing and hilarious. The mini documentary in/after the credits speaks volumes to the reason the film was made, the role of the veteran community, etc.
It also explains all the amputee humor and jokes, with the amputees explaining "no, I did this because I thought it was funny, not because I was being exploited or something." All in all a laugh, hard, out loud funny film, highly recommend for military veterans, strongly recommend for civilians, only because they may not get some of the jokes.
