Review of Rang De Basanti (2006) by Yasmin W — 25 Feb 2008
Oh what a brilliant movie for young people everywhere! The firm unwavering belief in themselves, each other and that they can change their country for the better. This movie is to tell young people that you have the power to do anything, change anything, be anybody and make it work as a team.
Sadly, they all die in the movie. But not one was violent in response to the tidal wave against them. They were all heros and including the young women in it. The Brit girl could have been better recast, however, she tried and that is the main thing.
It was also another great look at India and Pakistan's past. It was also another great way to have hope in the world and with the new generations as they take over the places from the baby boomers.
Don't make the same mistakes as the baby boomers! Learn from them but don't repeat them! This movie was in its way as powerful as Lagaan!
