Review of Ran (1985) by Tomo H — 01 Aug 2008
Amazing film. No true heroes, no true villians, lots of victims & chickens coming home to roost. This is not my favorite Kurosawa film - if Kurosawa cares, Stray Dog still gets that prize - but if you can sit through 160 minutes of people people being awful to each other, this is beautiful & painful & worth every minute.
