Review of Ran (1985) by Millo T — 19 Aug 2010
The fact that this movie is a modern version of King Lear makes it too much predictable, and that diminishes its interest. If you like Japanese traditional society and its visual scenarios, maybe you like it.
It´s not it is a bad movie, it is just doesn´t say many original things (weak story, plot and dialogs), although it makes some interesting reflections about the victims of the conquests in war (mainly reflected on the wives of the brothers and their relatives).
Not bad last scene, but it makes too long to arrive to it.
