Review of Ran (1985) by Mr. S — 05 May 2008
An excellent adaptation of King Lear. The cinematography is wonderful. Lear is such a great story and Kurosawa brings his best, which is saying something, to this film.
If you'd like to see what a crappy adaptation is just try reading Jane Smiley's "A Thousand Acres", a book that could turn anyone off of the bard.
