About the only things I didn't like about this movie were the battle sequences--which is unfortunate considering their importance to the story. still, I found them a bit campy and overdramatic and not really in tune with the rest of the film.
everything else--writing, acting, cinematography, costumes, colors, music--was typical Kurosawa brilliance. visually stunning, poignantly dramatic, bitterly ironic, and just plain awesome.
