Review of Ran (1985) by Maciej W — 03 Aug 2009
In a few scenes some of the performances go a little too far over the top for my taste. But that is the only complaint I could even think of for yet another Kurosawa masterpiece. The cinematography, costumes, battles scenes, writing and overall direction are perfect.
Ran gives you plenty of memorable characters but I thought Mieko Harada as Lady Kaede was the show stopper. Find a way to see this as soon as you can.
