Awesome acting, I especially liked Tatsuya Nakadai's performance.
The costumes were beautiful, each enhancing every scene's composition.
And the kabuki-like movements of the actors in general.
Except for a camera movement that disturbed me a bit, I liked everything in this movie.
Although being long, it kept my attention till the end. And the starting slow pace was plainly justified by the plot.
I have to add though that I haven't read King Lear, nor had I ever seen any other Kurosawa movie, so this opinion may change soon.
