I know that Seven Samurai is considered the ultimate Kurosawa film, but this re-invention of King Lear is my favorite. Yoshiko Miyazaki steals the film with her icy performance. If only the whole thing were just a bit shorter.
For me, the film runs about 30 minutes too long.
