A film that can never quite make up its mind what it wants to be. What had the makings of being a hilarious absurdist comedy never quite lives up to its potential, with its comic turns spaced too far apart (and generally coming off as over the top when they do so).
In turn, its dramatic elements aren't especially compelling enough to keep viewers riveted at their unfolding. All in all, despite some gorgeous cinematography and an engaging soundtrack, the picture largely misfires in all the areas where it really counts.
