Review of Rampage (2018) by Arth J — 14 Apr 2018
I should shave my head..
Rampage.
As much as bigger it gets on screen on visual aspects, the feature goes smaller on its narrow vision that never had it right at the first place. It has a wafer thin script that is written too shallow to bring out anything colossal out of it (except the action sequences) for it is an epitome of a cliched episode that has predictable turns, repetitive dialogues and dull characters. Brad Peyton's execution skills fails to draw the attention from the big bucks for there isn't much creativity on craft left for the viewers to seek or go deep into it. Dwayne Johnson might be fit for such a role but still needs some work to do on delivering a genuine performance or even a dialogue which is utterly missing in it and addition to that even a good supporting cast like Naomi Harris and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are not in their A game. Rampage is one of those features that is exactly what it looks like and a bit lesser than that and questions the integrity of the viewers whether they are smarter than a vfx explosion mended on a large scale or asks for more.
