Review of Rampage (2018) by Thesodomizer — 27 Jul 2018
I didn't go into Rampage expecting Oscar worthy film making but this has to be one of the laziest lightly taken scripts I have even seen. The dialogue is all over the place with it unfunny jokes and useless characters. The movie (even though its a sci-fi) was stupidly unrealistic, the villains are there just as an excuse and the plot buries it self beneath its thickens.
Jack Lacy's performace as one of the villains is horrible and his partner in crime (Marley Shelton) is just as bad. Naomie Harris while not awful just runs around and looks for instructions. Dwayne Johnson and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are the only two delivered but still weren't anything to remember. What lived up to my expectations is the CGI and fight choreography. All three of the monsters look visually stunning and the set pieces are not half bad, however all of that happens in the ending 20 minutes and just isn't worth the 80 minutes of dumb storytelling wait.
