Review of Rampage (2009) by Tim F — 15 Dec 2010
How underated is this! Ok, I admit there's no big budget but the underlaying concept is so vigurous en close to us you realy start to wonder when one of the maniaks out there reaches the same level as this guy! We follow the seemingly mondane life of this young guy.
For instance the relationship he has with his parents is so open and discussable. But he seems frustrated and annoyed about a lot of things. Along with his friend, showing their aggetation thruogh fundamentalistic speeches, we soon see how this takes outragous form.
I found the concept of his thoughts understandable and I must admit it's close to the perfect rampage-massacre. At least it shows us something of an opposite. A very strong point in this one! We continuously see glimpses of far worse.
The acting is more than sufficiant, not excepted from a less familiar cast. Actually great for Brendan. He seems very smart, also in laying down the bigger mental picture, eventually. And, he has this weird frustrated laugh.
All is brought with an appropriate lightly shaky cam, certainly for the rampage itself. This is sudden and very upsetting, still you see how strategically he rests at certain points because his awesome and impressive home-made armor is so heavy, jogging while targeting everything that moves.
No remorse, no regret, more easily to understand when the movie reaches it's end but surely with a lot of violence. Tremendous terroristic assault on man and mentality!
