Review of Ramona and Beezus (2010) by Ross H — 13 Jan 2011
Cute little movie about a precocious girl who is always getting into trouble at school and at home and is just a little misunderstood. Did I say cute? Yeah, I knew what I was getting into when I saw the trailer but I went with it anyway and it wasn't bad.
If you're a ten year old girl you'll probably love this movie but I'm the farthest thing from that! Still a nice change for me as it is a live action g rated movie. I don't see very many of them! And Joey King who plays Ramona never got on my nerves and had a pretty good performance.
Selena Gomez did a good job as her sister Beezus. I guess this is from a popular children's book series which I didn't know until lately so there is some built in interest as well. Josh Duhamel put in a good performance as Ramona's neighbor as well as Ramona's aunt's former love interest.
John Corbett & Bridget Moynahan play the parents of the two siblings and did an adequate job which really nothing too substantial was asked of them. A harmless kiddie film.
