Review of Ramona and Beezus (2010) by Alan F — 13 Jan 2011
Ramona and Beezus is... you know what? It's a great movie. Just go watch it. A few things I'll share is that I'm really happy they didn't use high-end CGI here when they could've. It kept the movie much more charming and tangible to its audience.
Also, my favorite aspect of this movie is the fact that the family had it's modern-day cliche'd acts tossed out the window and replaced with an old-fashioned love for each other. Not that "Full House" love where everyone needs to hug someone before they leave a room, but an authentic care for each other, especially during their sad moments.
If you're an action-movie goer, obviously don't watch this as you'll have nothing but negative feedback, but if you're looking to get to know some new people who you wish could be your next door neighbors, Ramona and Beezus won't disappoint you.
