Before I write my complete review just have to say this: If your going to see this, your probably like me, being dragged there by your younger sister or mother, but your a sucker for a good little kid movies. But to sum up my excpectations, I really didn't have a lot. The train wreck that were Marmaduke and Shrek Forever After really got to me in thinking that a good genuinley enjoyable kids movie was not possible. I'm glad Ramona and Beezus came along.

Ramona and Beezus tells the story of Ramona, an engertic 9-year-old with an 'over-active imagination', and her sister, Beezus, and when their dad loses there job, Ramona tries to save her house etc etc. So typical family fare. And yeah, it is a bit predictable. I have to get that off my hands. But surprisingly, the predictablity of it all doesn't really even matter.

The best part of it, and the part that saves it all, is the cast. Selena Gomez, John Corbett, Bridget Moynahan, Ginnifer Goodwin, Sandrah Oh and Josh Duhamel are all great. There characters that you like; not some two dimensial idiots. They all have chemistry and play there roles honestly and well. But out of them all, the best part is Joey King (Ramona). Shes cute and funny and honest. There 3 dimensial and actually have personalities.

The dialogue is funny. A lot of scenes were endearing, and fun. I really did find myself laughing quite a bit in the movie, and it was never dull. Its really a hibryd kinds movie, because we rarely, rarely see a childrens novel adaptaion like this. I really felt for all the characters. Nothing in Ramona and Beezus is boring either. While yes, it does have a predictability factor, you don't really care for that.

This is the result of a good childrens novel, translated to the big screen, well. I really had no expectations of this movie, and while no, not the best of 2010, it really is funny and cute and if you want something to take your kids to that you might enjoy too, and something to take up your time for 95 minutes, then your in luck. Go see Ramona and Beezus.

8/10.
