Review of Rambo III (1988) by Jonalyn B — 17 Jan 2011
Made in 1988.John Rambo is living in a monastery when the military call for his help,he refuses to go back to War but when his Master and Commander Col.Trautman is ambushed and helkd captive, Rambo heads off to Afganistan in search of him.
This movie is often slated and also gets criticised off Rambo fans but I ask WHY?? This is a sequel that wasn't just a carbon copy of the other two, it really had its own formula that for the most part works really well,The movie taking place in Afganistan is a very different approach and I say hats off to Stallone and Co.
for trying something different, where the first two were action movies this movie steps on being an Action Adventure film,we also get to see Rambo in more Hand in Hand combats and also a really cool stealth scene in the afghan caves.
This third installement is huge fun and certainly does'nt deserve the Critical mauling it often gets.
