Review of Rambo III (1988) by Daniel S — 06 Oct 2008
This time, Rambo must go to Afghanistan to save his former officer. While the action scenes are great and the banter between Rambo and his officer are funny, the movie just felt long and boring, despite the fact it's the shortest in the series.
I'm not quite sure what it is, but I just didn't like this one so much. There were diffinitly parts of it that were awesome, such as the cave battle, and when Rambo blew a helicopter up with his explosive arrows.
I also have no diea why it's Rated R. There's no blood in it whatsoever, and it was obviously catered to a younger crowd, seeing as how Rambo now has a child sidekick for part of it, and as previously mentioned, there's comedic banter between him and his officer.
I don't know - Maybe it's the fact that this movie didn't do anything new that the other two movies hadn't already done numerous times. All in all, it just didn't feel like a Rambo movie to me. Not a good one anyway.
