Review of Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985) by Jeffrey L — 24 Sep 2008
At least the 1st movie was a tenuous tale about vets returning to civil life, glued onto an action flick, but this is ridiculous! We get the tiniest sniffter at plot(?) to justify this titular explosion-fest.
True, the action is handled much better this time, but there's bugger all else! I also kept being distracted by continuity errors (loads in here, most obvious being the constantly reappearing cracks in the helicopter windshield).
I keep hearing '80's classic' about this- why? Is it because it ends on an appauling power ballad?Even Berkoff does his usual cardboard cutout 'badguy' that lasts about 5 minutes. Surely even the most apple-pie, flag tottin', redneck must regard this as totally empty, racist nonsense.
