Review of Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985) by Michael S — 05 Dec 2009
Sequel to the underrated First Blood is a flawed but decent action adventure that is fast paced enough to get past the plot holes. It also took First Blood's very human John Rambo and turned him into a larger then life super warrior.
When viewed now the film takes on a nostalgic quality as a perfect example of the style of action movie made during the gung ho Ronald Reagan era. It was also when Stallone's ego rose to it's highest and it effected his performances for the next decade or so.
Great double feature with the equally bombastic Rocky IV.
