Review of Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985) by Brandon F — 11 Feb 2010
Takes the clichés of 80s action films from the first one and ramps them up from a subtle 3 to an explosive 11. Iâ??m not going to say I didnâ??t enjoy it, because I did. It was big, dumb and all the bad things youâ??d expect from a sequel co-written by James â??twatâ?? Cameron (assuming you hadnâ??t seen or conveniently forgotten about T2).
My favourite bit has to be Rambo, covered in sand as camouflage, materialising from a rock to kill somebody or something. That was funny. Berkoff could have been used more â?? in terms of screen time and ham.
I want my British Russian villains outrageous!
