This one film... single handedly cured the united states of post vietnam stress disorder. it's no wonder they were able to invade contry after country after this point.
At it's most basic... this film does for the rambo franchise what aliens did for that franchise... it took a serious first film and gave it an action shakeup... so that the franchise wouldn't take itself too seriously (as rocky did for example).
