Review of Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985) by Seth P — 27 Aug 2010

Surprisingly, I haven't seen the first Rambo movie, but I had seen about 10 minutes of the middle of this one. I still think the title would have worked better as "Rambo: Second Blood", but that's just my opinion.

At any rate, when the screenplay is written by both Sylvester Stallone and James Cameron, you kind of know what you're getting into. It was nice to see the scenes that inspired movies like "Hot Shots: Part Deux". In fact, it's the over-the-top action films of the 80's that pretty much defined the genre. This film was no exception and had (if not originated) every cliche that's associated with the action genre. Needless to say, it was extremely entertaining.
