Review of Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985) by Peter N — 13 Aug 2012
The action is increased one-hundred fold for the second entry in the Rambo series. The character may have died in the literary version of First Blood, but he lives on in cinema, providing Stallone with an epic action series to rival some of the other big names in Hollywood.
Rambo makes his way back to Vietnam to rescue POWs left behind by the government. Despite what could have been a really intricate plot, the film is a lot less preachy and story-driven than the last one, relying completely on heavy gunfire and explosive arrow tips to prove its point.
This film has my favorite action sequences of the series, but it lacks the depth and emotion of the first one.
