Review of Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985) by Aodhan R — 14 Aug 2014
In the First Blood sequel Stallone reprises his role as the savaging ex-Vietnam Veteran. He's extricated from prison by former superior Colonel Trautman, to carry out a new assignment in Vietnam - to find the whereabouts of POWs. He joins forces with a female Vietnamese Freedom Fighter, and together they use their deadly skills to dispose of Anti-Communists and rescue the POWs, whatever the cost. The situation becomes more brutal when Rambo starts a one-man-war against the enemy forces when his female partner is murdered.
It may not be as convincing or as great as the Original First Blood, but First Blood Part II lives up to its extremes in ferocious one-man-war combat and to the brutality that defines the chaos of watfare.
