Review of Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018) by J G — 07 Dec 2018
SJW filled. The premise is that the light skinned male is always at fault and needs to sacrifice for the female's dreams. The narcissist female can then disregard Ralph's sacrifice for her new dream of the minute and demand that he must accept that.
Ralph is then written as explicitly having complete insecurities causing more trouble that he must fix. The female characters nag for appreciation and never say thank you or sorry for their actions. Other then this display of virtue signaling female empowerment solely through emasculating Ralph (females can be empowered and strong, you don't need to destroy men to do it though) some of the plot is enjoyable and the visuals are good.
The over the top SJW branding detracts from a thoughtful family film.
