Review of Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018) by Opify — 27 Nov 2018
I'll review this from 2 perspectives:The child audience and the mature audience.
For the child audience, this movie honestly feels like "just another Disney movie". It has the usual twist, friendship ruining and pretty much the usual for a Disney movie.
It is the little things that actually made me laugh. The first 3 quarters of the movie depicted the Internet almost flawlessly. It ranges from the *annoying* popups to YouTube's algorithm to even the infamous comment section. The only minor mistakes they made were the cat videos (which died a few years ago).
Regarding the Disney princesses, I feel they were there just to be there although to be fair I also wouldn't know how to make them anymore interesting in the movie.
So why can't I go any higher? Because in the end, I personally find it to be based on the usual Disney themes which is pretty Mich the same old thing. They had a perfect opportunity to do something new with the given setting but instead used the usual formula.
