Review of Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018) by Heather C — 29 Nov 2018
Ralph Breaks The Internet has a few funny moments, but lacks the heart and cohesive direction of the first film. I've always measured a sequel by whether or not it furthers the characters that you enjoyed in the original film. The problem with Ralph 2.0 is that at squanderers the premise and offers a muddled, scattered story that doesn't come close to hitting the high marks of the first film. Where as Wreck It Ralph had a sense of urgency and obstacles which breathed life into these now classic characters, the sequel seems content to just plod along In what appears more like a series of Loosely-strung-together vignettes than a tightly woven, clear plot as was offered in the first film.
The new film isn't terrible, and you might be able to find a few chuckles and smiles inside this sloppy mess, but if you're looking for a reprise of the brilliant original, you will be disappointed.
