Back in 2012, I fell in love with a little movie called "Wreck-It Ralph." I went into that movie not expecting much and left it considering it to be one of my favorite modern animated movies.
When it was announced that it was getting a sequel, I was thrilled. I am glad to say that "Ralph Breaks the Internet" is a strong follow up that I enjoyed, despite not liking as much as the original.
The movie is a clever, funny, and heartwarming experience that can be enjoyed by all ages. Adults can appreciate the clever jokes about pop culture and the Internet while kids will enjoy the fast pace and beautiful animation.
The story is pretty good and the themes are also pretty profound. I did feel that the movie took a little while to truly get going. Regardless, I found myself enjoying the jokes throughout and I was pretty invested in the final act.
The movie says a lot about friendship and society and is ultimately a solid and intelligent follow up that fans of the first should enjoy.
