Review of Raising Arizona (1987) by Matthew G — 02 Jan 2011
I was soon interested in this film once I knew it was a comedy by the Coen Brothers. I certainly hadn't seen too many comedies out of them. It is indeed very entertaining, with plentiful welcome twists and turns along the way as they attempt to keep their stolen baby a secret.
Of course, it is full of witty banter, but a bit crude at the best of times! Moreover, the ending fits very well and you feel somewhat satisfied, unlike in other films where I sometimes have questions buzzing around in my head afterwards.
