Review of Raising Arizona (1987) by Melody M — 11 Apr 2012
Finally saw this movie! It's been on my must get to seeing list for quite a few years now and I'm glad that I actually checked it out. The movie is actually quite funny. Nicholas Cage use to be a good actor and this is about where people might have thought he was only going to make quality movies.
Holly Hunter is funny, but John Goodman was downright the funniest guy to me in the entire film. Goodman is a runaway prisoner that is just so so dumb. The movies plot is very simple about a couple stealing a baby, but theres more to it than that.
It goes into a bit about peoples wants and how not everything goes as planned. The subplot with the bounty hunter was absolutely ridiculous and really takes away from certain points of the movie (oh hell theres a chase scene in here too that would never happen, but I bought that).
Overall, I'd have to say if you've never seen it definitely give this movie a look!
