Every moment of this wondrous modern fairy tale is brought to the screen with such impeccable clarity (the hilariously hellish introduction of Smalls is a personal favorite), I can hardly believe it. This is some of my favorite work from cinematographer Barry Sonnenfield; every single frame is a delightful oddity.

Cage and Hunter are achingly funny in a touching story that is unique in circumstance yet universal in emotion. The ending is downright beautiful. One of the Coens finest pictures.
