Review of Raising Arizona (1987) by Tommy M — 14 Jan 2010
Another Coen brothers comedy filled with dark humor and an assortment of lovable idiots.
The "two-headed" directors sure know how to pen dialogue for any sticky situation, but the problem with 'Raising Arizona' is that no matter how many wacky turns it takes, never once do we care about how it will end for any of the characters. We get a decent sense of who's good and who's bad, but the idea as a whole feels like one big twisted fantasy... maybe that's the point. Either way, I would never beg to see it again.
