Review of Raising Arizona (1987) by Ken C — 23 Sep 2010
I really wanted to see Buried this weekend but I dont live near any of the select theatres that the movie is being shown so I have to wait until next next friday when it plays everywhere and then I thought to myself what a perfect apportunity to write a review on Raising Arizona. To be honest the only reason I wanted to even watch this movie was because of Nicholas Cage, one of my main goals in life is to watch every Nic Cage movie ever made as well as play every Metroid game ever made. But that's not the only reason I watched it, I am a huge Cohen brothers fan and I don't think that they have made one bad movie although I haven't seen The Lady Killers yet but anyway heres what I thought...
I think that every body has said this before but this movie isn't one of the Cohen's best but it's still got car chases, prison breaks, over the top action, explosions, and in the end leaves you with a good feeling inside. I don't know why but I really like the scenes where HI's prison buddies are just hanging out at his house eating all of his food and watching tv it makes me feel cozy especially because one of the fugitives is John Goodman. I also really like how the movie uses old folk music so that the movie doesn't seem dated, if you've seen the movie you might know what im talking about. The ending is touching and left me with a good feeling later that night and got me a great night sleep. This movie is great and has plenty of memorable lines, I love it.
