Review of Rainy Season (2013) by Byron B — 18 Mar 2015
I saw this at the Ohio Independent Film Festival in 2014. Places a very human face on people living in post-war Vietnam. Focuses on one family in particular living in a rural part of the country. The film shows this family struggling to move on after the tragedy of losing their youngest son to an American mortar left behind from the war.
The film shows that there are also social workers taking action to locate and mark unexploded bombs around the countryside, but government action and international goodwill efforts are needed to clean up the mess left by American bombers all these years later.
