A defining film of the 1980's, "Rain Man" is about a short-fused car dealer who is on a road trip with his newfound mentally retarded brother. This film features great performances from both Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise,and the performances are what make the film's themes so compelling.
This film shows us that people with mental disabilities are here as a test to us. The film shows that disabled people, though sometimes they get on our nerves, have a soul and emotions and feelings just like everyone else, and that they need to be loved too.
All-in-all, the film is very, VERY touching.
