Hands down the most iconic action film ever made, and up to that point, one of the most original. Everything about this film is in sync. Lawrence Kasadan's script, Stephen Speilberg's directing, Harrison Fords' charisma, Ben Burt's sound design and editing, the pacing, and top that off with John William's best score to date.
Raiders of the Lost Ark is a great story, that is fast paced, with delightful characters, amazing set pieces, thrilling chase sequences, and a perfect cast. The TITANIC of popcorn films, it is IMPOSSIBLE to not get sucked into it, and it's even more impossible to not allow yourself to be entertained in a way many films have mimicked, but few to none reach this pinnacle of decadence.
