Involving, inventive and always fun, the film's broad influence by classic adventure serials is skilfully supported by its own artistic force. the plot's supernatural mcguffin is itself a character, serving to remind how limited and human its seekers can be.
'raiders' is many accomplishments for cinema, but most importantly a rollicking time and in a class of its own.
