Review of Ragnarok (2013) by Cory W — 05 May 2017

Good, not great little monster flick. Probably not enough action for most fans, but its gorgeously filmed and well paced. I can see why some may not like it, but I very much so enjoyed it.

Part of what stops it from ascending to a better score is its fear of going full monster movie... so its potential is wasted. No real violence takes place on screen, with a lot of cut a ways right before someone snuffs it.

Not light hearted enough for families, not scary or gory enough for people looking for a monster movie. I don't know if the filmmakers were unsure of their target audience or what.

It's good, just not a classic.
