Review of Raging Bull (1980) by Ricardo A — 13 Nov 2011
I'm making my way through many classics and this was definitely on my least but I must say that I was overall kind of let down. De Niro and Pesci were great and they really captured well a deeply flawed man whose insecurities and obsessions really took him down.
However, I felt that the overall pacing and storytelling were disjointed, unevenly paced, and there were also some pretty flat characters that could've added more to the story. It's definitely worth seeing for a lot of the cultural references and the two leading performances but not my favorite of Scorsese's work.
