Review of Raging Bull (1980) by Albert K — 03 Mar 2012
The rise and fall of real life boxer Jake LaMotta brilliant portrayed by Robert De Niro. Raging Bull is a savage, unrelenting, and unforgiving movie. Yet another Scorcese masterpiece. Unsentimental yet incredibly moving.
It's not a movie about a loser, it's about real life. This is about the frailty and reality of human existence. The guts, the glory, the cowardice and the self-destruction. It probably has some of the best boxing scenes ever put on celluloid.
One of the best character studies in the history of movie making. If you still haven't seen Raging Bull, go watch it and have one of the greatest experiences of your life!
