Review of Raging Bull (1980) by Lester F — 08 Apr 2013
De Niro had a very strong performance in this film, his acting and Scorsese's direction is what makes this movie so great. This movie isn't to be watched for the action (which I felt was fairly mediocre), but it is for the interesting story of a boxer and the well developed characters.
This movie is quite hard to watch and I spent the majority of the movie hating De Niro's character, but at the end the hate immensely decreased and I felt bad for the character. Interesting choice to keep the reason for the ending open to interpretation but I wish the movie took a stance.
