"Raging Bull" is a brutal character study anchored by one of the best lead performances of all time from Robert De Niro. His portrayal of Jake Lamotta is unbelievably transcendent, deep, and layered.
Scorsese's unflinching direction also makes this film incredibly gripping and enthralling.
