This is Robert De Niro's best performance. I know he has many great ones, Taxi Driver, The Godfather II, Cape Fear, Casino and Once Upon a Time in America to name a few but this tops all of them and why? De Niro plays someone who wouldn't want to know in real life, he plays someone who is very easy to hate and he plays him well.
Robert De Niro makes Jake La Motta, already a boxing legend, an on screen legend too.
