Review of Raging Bull (1980) by Nik M — 12 Sep 2012
It is very nice to see the passion put into the black and white output of this biopic about an icon who, like many before him, had his success ruined by his flaws. Emotions are high, dialogue is engrossing with challenge and tension, and the characters just could not be performed better by anyone else.
Raging Bull also includes one of the most beautifully endearing montages in cinema. Scorsese realizes that what makes a good sports film are the characters behind it; when athletes are more than the sport.
