While the movie may not go as far below the surface as we might like, partially to keep its PG rating, the moving story permeates through to our senses and emotions. The movie has terrific performances by Debra Winger, Ed Harris and Cuba Gooding, Jr.
Harris's confession to his daughter of why he has chosen to deprive his family of the attention it needs and place his job at risk is the turbulent center of this movie that leads us all to grapple with whether we could have possibly made the same decision.
